Development of an innovative personal gluten biosensor

JSC "Innosensus" started the project aiming to develop new and innovative product – Rapid Gluten Detector. It is estimated that 1 of 7 Europeans do not tolerate gluten. People who are gluten intolerant or suffer celiac disease day by day meet with unpleasant symptoms and this causes physical and psychological problems for them. Yet there is no quick and effective way to detect the presence of gluten in the food nowadays. Project researchers' team is devoted to offer the solution. A personal electrochemical biosensor, which quickly detects the presence of gluten in food, and helps to prevent symptoms is being developed.

Product prototype development and prototype technology patent application are planned as deliverables during the project implementation period: 2023.06.01 – 2025.02.28.

The project is co-funded by the European Union and the own funds of JSC „Innosensus“. The budget of the project is 289,345 EUR. Subsidy of European Regional Development Fund allocated for the project is 172,834 EUR.
